The library hosted a book tasting for the 6th grade classes. Students explored delightful selections of books from various genres! Just like a fine dining experience, they had the chance to "sample" different titles and discover their next great read.

The School District of Newberry County will host its annual pre-participation physical exam on Saturday, April 26, 2025, from 8:00 AM – 11:00 AM at Mid-Carolina High School. This physical is required for student-athletes participating in sports after May 1, 2025, and will cover the 2025-2026 school year.
Important Details:
• Time: 8:00 AM – 11:00 AM
• Cost: $25
• Forms: Must be completed, signed, and submitted to Coach Meetze before arrival. Forms can be picked up at the main office.
• Attire: Athletes should wear sports-appropriate clothing (shorts, t-shirts, tennis shoes).
• Deadline: Turn in paperwork and payment to Coach Meetze by April 24, 2025.
If an athlete is not cleared, a follow-up form with further instructions will be provided. All paperwork will be stored and later returned to the school’s athletic staff. Documents must also be uploaded to PlanetHS.

A community service award was added to Miss Mid-Carolina Middle School pageant this year. Contestants were asked to donate items in this optional area of competition for the Do Good award. The ladies brought in over 350 items as well as monetary donations. Skye Boozer was the Do Good award winner. We are super proud of their participation! These donations will be delivered to the Newberry County Animal Shelter.
Raegan Lindler job shadowing her dad, Oneal Lindler at Lindler’s Construction. They are working on the I26 Widening project in St Matthews. Her day started at 4:30 am, and it was 19 degrees! She has been moving dirt in a 730 Off Road truck being loaded by a 320 Excavator. She has learned that the machine she is in carries 23CY of material with each load. She has learned some safety guidelines and how to record the loads hauled to the project manager.

Connor Long and Jackson Senn had a lot of fun job shadowing with Coach Busby at RES. He allowed them to lead stretches and to participate in PE activities with the students. They had a fantastic time learning more about becoming a PE Teacher and coach. Both boys greatly appreciate the opportunity to job shadow at Reuben Elementary School.
