CHIP CHIP HOORAY!
At Boundary Street Elementary, great attendance is coming together…one potato part at a time!
Each day EVERY student in a homeroom is at school, the class adds a body part to its classroom Mr. Potato Head. Once he’s complete, it’s time for a CHIP PARTY! And who delivers the chips? Mrs. Fore and Mr. Dukes—in inflatable Mr. Potato Head costumes, of course! No delivery is complete without the students cheering, “CHIP CHIP HOORAY!”
These homerooms have already earned a chip party, and some are getting close to party #2: Wicker, Fanara, Phillips, Bishop, Brady, Parker, Richter, Flemon, Wilkerson, White, Heydeck, Parnell, Rhymer, Chocklett, and Livingston!
We’re also celebrating 118 students who had PERFECT ATTENDANCE for the first nine weeks!
Thank you, families, for helping our students show up, learn, and grow. We love celebrating them—and we’re clearly willing to look a little ridiculous to do it!

The School District of Newberry County was recently notified by Frontline Education, a third-party service provider the district uses, of a cybersecurity incident involving Frontline’s systems. The incident affected several other South Carolina school districts statewide. To be clear, the district has not experienced a cybersecurity incident.
According to information from Frontline, the incident resulted from a vulnerability in a third-party software product used by Frontline that allowed unauthorized access to part of its environment. The incident occurred within Frontline’s systems and was not the result of a cybersecurity breach of the School District of Newberry County’s network or systems.
Frontline identified the following types of personal information that were impacted for 355 employees: Social Security number, email address, and mailing address. Frontline has stated that it is not aware of any misuse of the information as a result of the incident.
The district takes the privacy and security of student information seriously and is currently working with Frontline, the S.C. Law Enforcement Division, and the district’s legal counsel to review the incident, its impact on our students and families, and the appropriate next steps.
Frontline has indicated it will notify affected individuals in accordance with the law and offer identity protection services at no cost, including appropriate monitoring services for minors. We will provide additional information about those resources directly to affected individuals.
We understand that incidents involving personal information can create concern for families. The School District of Newberry County will continue working with Frontline and legal counsel to ensure stakeholders receive accurate, timely information as it becomes available.
