Hey, Wildcats! My name is Danielle Glymph, and I am so excited to join the second grade team at LME! I am originally from West Virginia but have called Newberry County home for the past 24 years. I am a graduate of Mid-Carolina High School. I earned my Bachelors in Elementary Education from Newberry College and my Masters in Education from Columbia College. I have spent the last 8 years teaching at Newberry Middle School. I am very excited to start my ninth year teaching on "the mountain".
When I am not working I enjoy spending time with my family. My husband, Ashley, and I live in Prosperity with our son Gabe. We enjoy going to the lake, hanging out by the pool, playing with our 2 spoiled dogs Nala and Jasper, and most importantly just spending time making memories together.
I am looking forward to a great year at LME and cannot wait to get to know my amazing 2nd grade Wildcats! I look forward to making lasting memories as we learn, grow and become lifelong leaders.

Parents of students in the School District of Newberry County are asked to complete one questionnaire per child to determine how they would like their child to return to school for the 2020-2021 school year. Option 1 allows parents the choice of sending their child to school on a Hybrid schedule – meeting in person 2 days per week and eLearning 3 days per week. Option 2 is for parents who wish to have their child participate in the Newberry ONE Institute for eLearning, a completely online option for a semester at a time.
The questionnaire can be found at https://bit.ly/SDNCLearningPref and must be submitted prior to midnight on July 28, 2020.

The Student Environmental Education Coalition (SEEC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a commitment to improving environmental literacy and a board composed of students from the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics in Durham. SEEC is now in its 8th year of hosting NatureWay, a free, annual summer camp where K-5 kids have the opportunity to learn about topics relevant to environmental science, climate change, and sustainability.
In lieu of our in-person camp traditionally held at the Chapel Hill Public Library, this year we will be holding a series of online video education sessions via Zoom from July 20th-24th, July 27th-31st, and August 3rd-7th. There will be topics taught by our high school and college counselors every day of the week, ranging from renewable energy, to ecology, to water pollution, and more! The calls each day will run from 2:00pm-3:30pm EST and 4:00pm-5:00pm EST. Because of this format, we do not have restrictions on the number of campers or their locations, so we would like to extend this opportunity to students outside of the Chapel Hill area.
More information about this program can be found at https://www.ncseec.org/natureway2020. The link to register for NatureWay is: tinyurl.com/natureway2020.

Several students from Little Mountain Elementary were among the nearly 160,000 students worldwide to participate in the Math Olympiad Program. They participated in a series of five monthly contest of 5 problems from November to March, and weekly practice sessions under the supervision and coaching of Ms. Jordan Suber. She taught the children to solve unusual and difficult problems and to think creatively.
The following students have been awarded an embroidered felt patch for scoring in the top 50% of all the participants.
Congratulations Wildcats!! We are proud of you!

We are in the process of submitting our 2019-2020 LME Yearbook for production. We need your help as we compile our final pages. We are asking that you please email Susan Dawkins (sdawkins@newberry.k12.sc.us) or Kim Mack (kmack@newberry.k12.sc.us) photos of recent "home-school" pictures. These pictures can be of our students working on learning packets, practicing music, creating art, PE or assignments from mystery readers.
Also, we would like for you to email your yearbook message to your child. Typically, there is a charge for yearbook messages, but we are not charging this year. An example of a message follows:
Rowdie, we are extremely proud of you! You rocked 2nd grade! Keep growing your brain. Love, Daddy & Mama
Please limit your message to 200 characters. Email messages to kmack@newberry.k12.sc.us

Hey everybody! I have created my very own YouTube Channel just for MUSIC lessons! I thought this was the best way to get music lessons out there to my sweet babies. Miss all of you bunches! Stay healthy!

Hello students and parents!
I hope everyone is staying safe out there and I will miss teaching you in PE class while we are not at school, but the good news is you can always practice the skills you need to keep your body healthy.
I’ve included some daily workouts for you to try and also linked up resources and activities that you can check out over the next few weeks. Also, don’t be afraid to get creative! One day in college, when my roommates and I were trying to be responsible and save money, we made up a game called Pots. Basically, we would spread out pots and pans in an open area, assign each one a point value, fold up a pair of socks to use as a ball, and challenge each other with different trick shots.
If you want, you can have your parents send a picture or video if you are working on any of these activities to seades@newberry.k12.sc.us. I’d love to share with the staff how our Wildcats are staying active!
Please go to documents under the menu tab and find the PE folder under the 10-day packets for remote learning folder. Other than the daily workouts provided in this packet, you can find lots of additional ideas linked on the last page.
Stay Safe, Have Fun and Keep Yourself Active!

Participants will receive a daily snack and have the opportunity to complete each day’s homework during our Power Hour program. Our curriculum focuses on STEAM projects and leadership skills all while providing a safe place for your child after school. After school care will begin the first day of school and run from school dismissal until 6:30 PM on school days. We even offer care at select sites when school is out. Let us help your child discover their greatness within. Visit https://portal.begreatacademy.com for more information and to complete the online registration.
